Dalton's Atomic Theory

Regarded as the ancestors bakalnya atomic theory was proposed by John Dalton (1808), although long before that there have been several opinions related to the atom. Dalton's atomic theory consists of several postulates, commonly called Dalton's postulates, among others, stated:Rata Penuh
* Atom is the smallest part of an element that can not be broken down into parts that are smaller and are massive or solid.
* Atoms of the same element are identical in character the same meaning in all things
* Atom not be created, and can not be destroyed.
* Chemical reactions occur because the merging of atoms into molecules or separation of the atoms of a molecule.

Dalton's Atomic Theory Weakness
In subsequent developments proved these postulates-postulates Dalton is not satisfactory, because:
* Postulatnya which states that atoms are the smallest and massively wrong. Proved later, that is not part of the smallest atoms and atoms are also not massive. Through the experiment has successfully demonstrated that the atom consists of particles smaller, namely protons, neutrons and electrons and also proved that the atom was hollow.
* Postulate which states that atoms of elements of the same type are identical, it is also wrong when someone managed to obtain isotopes of atoms of the same element but different mass.
* Postulate associated with chemical reactions is also considered unsatisfactory. If it is true that the chemical reaction merely penggabuang or separation of atoms, of course the product of a reaction should still have in common with the nature of its constituent substances. But in reality the chemical properties of a chemical reaction product was completely different from the original chemical properties. This means that chemical reactions are not just merging the release of atoms or atoms, but the chemical reaction inevitable changes in the structure of the constituent atoms.
